Watch out world, here I come!

Well it's been a while since our last post. We are getting prepared to leave town and wanted to post what just started happening with Adelyn. Watch out world she is finally walking. Well when we are back in town we will have some more posts. So family members you need not have to knock Adelyn down while we are away. We witnessed it, thank goodness I caught it on tape.

Houston, We have a Smile.

Well Adelyn is starting to smile. Which I am finding to be the hardest thing to catch on film. This is the first attempt while playing on her mat.

Out for a hike

The weather has really cooled down around here lately and we decided to go for a walk. Doing things on a spur of the moment don't really happen anymore but we made it out none the less.

Our little alligator

Well everything is going well on the home front so far. Adelyn enjoy's her evenings and loves to stay up late. Not sure how long thats going to last. We have found a new trick to get her to sleep and it's one that is favorable for me. I start playing my guitar and she is out. I am not sure if she is just bored by my guitar playing but it works.

I love this series and it shows quiet well what happens if I stop playing. I am running out of songs here...

Addy's New Swing

To celebrate Addy's three week plus one day birthday and to bring to life our last shred of hope for a few hours of sleep at night, Derek went out and bought her the new "Cadillac" of swings. It swings frontwards, backwards, sideways, in an arc, and upside-down. If this thing doesn't work, we give up! JK :)

Here's a sample of how it's working. It's too early for us to uncross our fingers just yet, but we'll see.

I couldn't resist adding this picture either. Look at those lips! I just want to eat 'em up.

Derek also caught some pictures with Addy's eyes open. What a goof ball.

I also forgot to mention Derek couldn't resist picking up Adelyn's first jersey. She is ready for Sunday football.

Belly Button

Well Adelyn lost her umbilical cord yesterday. All I can say is that thing smelled...I can not describe it. Anyways here's a shot of her belly...now it's time to start collecting some lint.

Out and about

Well today Andrea, Adelyn and I ventured to the local outdoor mall. I had to get some things and figured it was a good time to introduce Adelyn to the world...plus we are starting to get a little cabin fever. We went to Cheeseburger in Paradise for a late lunch and sat out on the deck to not disturb the other patrons...it went pretty well and we weren't to far from the car just in case. It has been great weather around here lately and it was great to get out. The stroller worked for the first two stores but then after that it was me caring her everywhere...sure beats any trip to the gym.

Overall it was a great success.

Adelyn's First Party

Well today some of the family wanted to come visit Adelyn since her arrival to the home. It was great for all that visited...it never hurts to be reminded how much love Adelyn will receive from this growing family. Thank you all for stopping by and thank goodness the weather held out and made for a memorable day. It was also probably the last day in a while that we will see cousin Sarah before her new adventure on the big island...Hawaii that is. Feel free to check her blog out and good luck Brian and Sarah.

It was also Adelyn's first visit with her new Uncle Bryo and Auntie Em...thanks for driving up from Peoria you guys.

We did have to bust out Adelyn's first cowgirl hat...this poor kid is going to be country with a little rock n roll.
Now off to find some matching cowgirls boots...well maybe one day.

1 week old

It's hard to believe its been a whole week already. Adelyn is getting the routine well, if you consider eating, pooping, sleeping, pooping, eating, and more sleeping a routine. Well I am off to run some errands for the little one.

Great Weather

Well the weather has been great and of course we have to take advantage. It just so happens to calm down Adelyn when she is outside...so maybe I will have a little outdoor girl. Gibson is finally turning around and he is starting to really follow Adelyn around everywhere.

Patiently Waiting

Well we have passed our due date and the bump is still here. Andrea had her last day at work on Thursday for her maternity leave. She is already worried about being bored while out of work, so this baby better come quick. Even Gibson is starting to wonder what we are waiting for.
Well I am not sure what else is needed for preparing for our little arrival...but the car seat is waiting by the back door.

Baby Room Pt 4

Well the room is finally coming together. As requested I took a picture of the baby and Andrea. Less than two weeks to her tentative due date so today we spent the day taking inventory of what else is needed.

I caught Andrea napping in her chair today,
so she is finally starting to slow down.

Here's Annie by the crib.

We added some little birds for the tree...ok it's a mobile I can't paint anymore.

And of course I caught Zima sleeping in the sun, he is always sleeping...what else are cats for?

Baby Room Pt 3

Ok here's another installment of the baby room. We acquired a dresser from mom and dad and decided to paint it. At first Andrea wanted to just paint it white, but I said white is so boring. SO we ( I ) painted it a green color. The color of the green was suppose to be a little darker than what turned out but you know how those paint samples lie all the time. Andrea came up with the idea of adding the branches to it. Here is her originally sketch...

This is my interpretation, I hope I did it justice.

Here is the mess of the room, ok so we are not done yet.

We decided to move the crib back, we also acquired a little foot locker, I painted it to match.

And here is the closet before it becomes baby-fied!

Baby Room Pt 2

After the new carpet was installed, I decided to put the crib together. It wasn't as difficult as they make it. I surprised Andrea with a mattress and of course the bedding had to go on.

Baby Room Pt 1

Ah and so it begins.

It's a sad day for men and their "man" rooms. The former "man" haven. :(

Out with the blue office, it only took 2 coats of Kilz to cover it.

Now replaced with "Shy Blossom".

And of course I had to use some of that artist talent to paint a tree.

Stayed tune for part 2..."New Carpet"

19 weeks

We figured we would give a "in progress" shot of the baby factory. Here is Andrea at almost half way point. In a couple of weeks we will get to the ultrasound and finally find out what gender we are having. I know Andrea is getting really impatient. Too many trips to Baby's R Us and not knowing the gender is going to kill her.

She is starting to show!
