15 minutes of Claire...

There's no purpose to this post other than sharing some of Claire with you.  Enjoy!  She makes me smile every day.

If you can't beat the heat, join it...

A couple weekends back, we took Addy and Claire to their first zoo - the Milwaukee Zoo!  Unfortunately, I didn't charge the camera so I was only able to document the first couple animals. :(

When we first got there, Addy was super excited (and I think a little awed) to see the animals.  She was running around as fast as she could looking from one to the next.  I had such fun watching her and her daddy explore (LOVE daddy-daughter moments)! We all had a lot of fun but by the end of the day both the kids and the parents were hot and tired.  Too tired to even get ice cream on the way home!!!

Here are a couple of the shots we did get. (Please disregard some of the blurriness.  A lot of the places were no flash.)

(A new favorite pic of mine)

Poor Claire trying to see Something!

This week (as everyone can attest) has been SO hot!!!  Hard to explain to two little girls who want to go out and play, so we've been trying to keep ourselves cool and entertained.

Pretending we live underwater as mermaids:

Using our inside playground consisting of slide and "merry-go-round":

A brief jaunt to the pool:

Claire making her own splash pad:

And baby smooches:

This next bunch just makes me laugh.  This is my daily view when I go out to water the flowers on the front stoop.

Lastly, despite the blurriness (I was in a hurry to capture the scene), I wanted to share this one too.  Adelyn was in a time out.  I went in to the kitchen to set the timer and came back to this.  I guess Claire didn't want to miss out.

That's all for now.  Stay cool everyone!

She's three!!!

Happy, happy birthday to our little Adelyn Gail!!!

I don't want to get too mushy or I'll start to cry but I just want to say it has been our joy to be Mommy and Daddy to this little girl for three years.  (OK, here it comes anyway...)

It seems like yesterday we were meeting her for the first time yet I can hardly remember what life was like without her.  As I say every year, I wish I could freeze her and keep her this age forever, but I also know that even better is yet to come.  So many exciting things to look forward to this year (don't even mention the "S" word to me)!

Peanut, I love you and Happy Birthday!  You are my gift every day.

Here are some pics of her little party with just me, Daddy, and Claire. :)

The setup while napping:

The initial surprise

The unsure (thumb in mouth), but slowly excited (hesitant smile behind thumb)

The Wish

Some beautiful flowers sent from Grandma and Grandpa.  She was so excited to have her very own delivery!
