Trip to Michigan

Well the past couple of days we decided to head up to Michigan to see the grandparents and the new aunts and uncle's. Adelyn was great in the car, she didn't really cry at all and Gibson made sure she had good car behavior as he is the expert of the back seat. We went from Sunday til Wednesday. It was good to get out of the house and we had a good time.

Here's a picture of my brother with Adelyn

My sister and soon to be brother-in-law with Adelyn

We decided when we were traveling back to Chicago to take a break in South Haven, MI. The weather was a little warm so we found the only shade we could and grabbed a sandwich and enjoy the short road break.
I had to post this picture of Andrea enjoying her sandwich...it's hard to believe less than 3 weeks she was pregnant and now she is out and about keeping the spirits so good.
Sandwich looks yummy doesn't it?.

Here is a shot of the family, minus the photographer, relaxing in the only shade on the boardwalk...we had to keep Adelyn covered in fear of sun burn, it was almost 90 outside...

Belly Button

Well Adelyn lost her umbilical cord yesterday. All I can say is that thing smelled...I can not describe it. Anyways here's a shot of her belly...now it's time to start collecting some lint.

Out and about

Well today Andrea, Adelyn and I ventured to the local outdoor mall. I had to get some things and figured it was a good time to introduce Adelyn to the world...plus we are starting to get a little cabin fever. We went to Cheeseburger in Paradise for a late lunch and sat out on the deck to not disturb the other patrons...it went pretty well and we weren't to far from the car just in case. It has been great weather around here lately and it was great to get out. The stroller worked for the first two stores but then after that it was me caring her everywhere...sure beats any trip to the gym.

Overall it was a great success.

Adelyn's First Party

Well today some of the family wanted to come visit Adelyn since her arrival to the home. It was great for all that visited...it never hurts to be reminded how much love Adelyn will receive from this growing family. Thank you all for stopping by and thank goodness the weather held out and made for a memorable day. It was also probably the last day in a while that we will see cousin Sarah before her new adventure on the big island...Hawaii that is. Feel free to check her blog out and good luck Brian and Sarah.

It was also Adelyn's first visit with her new Uncle Bryo and Auntie Em...thanks for driving up from Peoria you guys.

We did have to bust out Adelyn's first cowgirl hat...this poor kid is going to be country with a little rock n roll.
Now off to find some matching cowgirls boots...well maybe one day.

1 week old

It's hard to believe its been a whole week already. Adelyn is getting the routine well, if you consider eating, pooping, sleeping, pooping, eating, and more sleeping a routine. Well I am off to run some errands for the little one.

Great Weather

Well the weather has been great and of course we have to take advantage. It just so happens to calm down Adelyn when she is outside...so maybe I will have a little outdoor girl. Gibson is finally turning around and he is starting to really follow Adelyn around everywhere.

Sleeping is fun.

Ok I am going to try not to post too much, I do have some more free time than Andrea does so here it goes.
Andrea caught all of us grabbing a nap...why isn't Andrea sleeping?

I guess Gibson is starting to like his new little sister...he try's to stay in the same room as she is in. Could be because of Andrea but I like to pretend he likes his new sister. He only leaves the room when she starts to cry, he doesn't like her crying, can you blame him?

We are home.

Well are now at home, what a feeling... We are trying to get adjusted and it's real fun as you might suspect. Andrea is doing fine and Gibson and Zima are meeting their new sister pretty well. Gibson is really timid around Adelyn and is always sniffing her and checking her out. Zima see's to not care too much about her at this moment.

Here is a picture of Adelyn after her first shampoo...her hair is looking more red each day. Don't you love baby mohawks?

Andrea and Adelyn...

Patiently Waiting

Well we have passed our due date and the bump is still here. Andrea had her last day at work on Thursday for her maternity leave. She is already worried about being bored while out of work, so this baby better come quick. Even Gibson is starting to wonder what we are waiting for.
Well I am not sure what else is needed for preparing for our little arrival...but the car seat is waiting by the back door.
